CISI’s CSWIP 3.1 preparation is structured around deliberate stages, giving technical understanding and practical work the attention they need.
Technical theory
Master welding processes, weld defects, codes and standards, and the principles behind every inspection decision on the CSWIP pathway.
WPS drawing
Interpret welding procedure specifications, weld symbols and fabrication drawings, and verify that the work matches what was specified.
Hands-on practical
Visually inspect welded plates, identify and measure defects against acceptance criteria, and document your findings in a formal inspection report.
Two mock exams
Preparation closes with two mock exams, scheduled at the student’s own pace, giving each candidate a dry run before the actual exam.
